Delf b2 preparation online for university entry and professional French
DELF B2 exempts you from the language test at most French universities, which makes it the most practically valuable diploma on the DELF ladder.
- France Éducation international
- CEFR B2
Who this is for
Is this the right course for you?
Applicants to French universities, professionals who need documented B2, and candidates who hold B1 and need the certificate that actually opens doors.
What you cover
Inside the DELF B2 course
- The four sections and how the marking grid rewards structure
- Building and defending an argument, in speech and in writing
- Written production: the essay and formal letter formats B2 uses
- The oral defence, rehearsed with genuine challenge from the examiner
- Listening to interviews, debates and broadcast French at full speed
- Two full timed mock papers with written feedback
DELF B2 is the diploma that matters most on the DELF ladder, because it is the one French universities accept in place of their own language testing.
Structure is marked, explicitly
The B2 written task is assessed on organisation as much as on language. Candidates who write fluent, well-observed French without a visible argumentative structure lose marks they did not know were available. Structure is taught here as a subject in its own right.
The oral is a defence
You present a position and the examiner pushes back. Candidates who agree with every challenge lose ground; the exam wants you to hold and qualify your position, politely, in French.
DELF B2 questions, answered properly
Does DELF B2 exempt me from a French university language test?
In most cases, yes. French universities generally accept DELF B2 as proof of French for admission and waive their own language requirement. Some competitive or language-heavy programmes ask for C1. Check the specific programme page and confirm with admissions, since requirements differ between institutions and between subjects.
How hard is the jump from B1 to B2?
It is the largest step on the DELF ladder. B1 asks you to communicate; B2 asks you to argue, concede, structure and nuance, all at speed. Most candidates need six to twelve months of focused work, and the ones who struggle are usually strong speakers who have never been taught written argument.
What is the hardest section of DELF B2?
Production écrite for most candidates — a structured argumentative text with a clear position, appropriate register and accurate complex grammar under time pressure. It is also the most improvable section, because it responds directly to writing weekly, being marked against the published grid, and rewriting.
