Booking a lesson

A lesson is booked when you and your tutor have agreed a specific time. The first trial lesson is 30 minutes and free, and no payment details are taken for it.

Paying for lessons

Lessons are paid for individually or in bundles, before they are taken. There is no subscription, no minimum term and no joining fee. Rates depend on the tutor and the course; ask us for the current figure for the course you want.

Moving or cancelling a lesson

You can move or cancel a lesson free of charge up to 12 hours before it starts. Inside 12 hours the lesson counts as taken, because your tutor has held that time and turned other work away. If something genuinely unavoidable happens, tell us — we would rather use judgement than a rule.

If a tutor cancels on you, that lesson is rescheduled at no cost to you, and if it happens repeatedly we will move you to another tutor.

Bundles and refunds

Unused lessons in a bundle remain yours. If you want to stop, tell us and we will refund the unused balance at the rate you paid. Bundles are not tied to a single tutor — if you change tutor, the remaining lessons move with you.

Changing tutor

You can ask to change tutor at any time, without giving a reason and without any charge for the switch. Teaching is a personal fit and a tutor who suits one student can be wrong for another.

What we do not promise

We do not guarantee that you will pass an exam. Nobody honestly can: results depend on your starting level, the time you put in between lessons, and the exam on the day. What we will tell you is whether the timeline you have in mind is realistic, and we will say so before you book rather than afterwards.

We also do not give immigration, visa or legal advice. Where this site describes an exam requirement, verify it with the authority or institution concerned before booking a sitting.

Conduct

Tutors and students are expected to treat each other with basic courtesy. We will end the arrangement, and refund unused lessons, if anyone is abusive to a tutor.
