What a lesson costs today

We have not published a rate card on this page yet. Rates vary by tutor and by course, and a single headline number would be misleading for at least half the courses on this site.

Message us on WhatsApp or send a message naming the language and the course, and you will get the current figure the same day. We would rather quote you accurately than publish a number with an asterisk after it.

How it is structured

Six things about pricing we will not change on you

You pay per lesson, not per month

No subscription, no minimum term and nothing to cancel. Buy lessons when you want them and stop when you are done.

The rate depends on the tutor and the course

A tutor preparing you for the Bergenstest or telc B2 Pflege costs more than a general conversation tutor, because the expertise is scarcer.

Bundles cost less per lesson

Buying ten or twenty lessons at once brings the per-lesson price down. Bundles do not expire on a schedule designed to make you lose them.

The trial lesson is free and is a real lesson

Thirty minutes, one to one, no card details. If we are not the right fit you have lost half an hour and nothing else.

No platform fee and no booking fee

The price you agree is the price you pay. Marketplaces take a cut from the tutor, which is one reason tutor quality varies so much on them.

Cancel or move a lesson 12 hours ahead

Free up to 12 hours before. After that the lesson counts, because your tutor has held that hour and turned other work away.

Questions about what it costs

How much do online language lessons cost?

Across the market, one-to-one online lessons typically run somewhere between fifteen and sixty US dollars an hour, driven mostly by the tutor’s qualifications and the scarcity of the language. Exam specialists and rare languages sit at the top of that range; general conversation practice on a large marketplace sits at the bottom. Ask us for the current rate for the specific course you want.

Why is a specialist tutor more expensive?

Because there are fewer of them and their preparation takes longer. A tutor who has taught the Bergenstest repeatedly, or who can mark an OET referral letter against the real criteria, is doing skilled work that a general conversation tutor is not. If you only need conversation practice, say so and we will not put you with an exam specialist.

Do I have to buy a bundle?

No. You can book single lessons indefinitely and many students do, particularly at the start when they are still deciding. Bundles are cheaper per lesson and suit people working towards a fixed exam date. Nobody is pushed into one during a trial lesson, and a bundle does not lock you to one tutor.

What happens if I need to stop?

You stop. There is no subscription to cancel and no notice period. If you have unused lessons in a bundle, they stay yours — tell us and we will hold them, and we will refund the unused balance if you would rather have the money back. Life gets in the way and that is not something to be penalised for.

The first lesson costs nothing

Thirty minutes, one to one, no card details taken. Ask the tutor about price directly if you want to.
