Siele exam preparation online, for when you need a result quickly

SIELE is taken on a computer, available on demand at many centres, and returns a score across the CEFR range rather than a pass or a fail. It is the fast option.

  • CEFR B2

Who this is for

Is this the right course for you?

Candidates who need documented Spanish quickly, university applicants on a deadline, and anyone who would rather sit a computer test than a paper one.

What you cover

Inside the SIELE Global course

  • The four tests and how the SIELE scale maps to CEFR levels
  • The computer format, including the recorded speaking tasks
  • Written production across the level range, marked to the criteria
  • Reading and listening under the exam's timing
  • Grammar targeted by diagnostic rather than a full syllabus
  • Two full timed mock tests with score-level feedback

SIELE is the Instituto Cervantes’ modern, computer-delivered Spanish certification, and it exists largely to solve DELE’s scheduling problem.

Score, not pass

Because SIELE reports a score across the CEFR range, there is no failing it — only getting a result below what you needed. That changes preparation: the goal is to lift the score in the weakest skills rather than to clear a threshold.

The recorded speaking test

You speak to a computer against a clock, with no examiner to react to. Candidates consistently find this the strangest part, and rehearsing under real conditions makes a measurable difference.

SIELE Global questions, answered properly

What is the difference between SIELE and DELE?

DELE is a permanent diploma taken at one fixed level, pass or fail, with limited sitting dates. SIELE is a multilevel computer test, available on demand at many centres, returning a score from A1 to C1 and valid for five years. DELE carries more weight for permanent recognition; SIELE is much faster to arrange.

Is SIELE accepted by universities?

It is backed by the Instituto Cervantes and three major universities, and it is accepted by a growing number of institutions and employers. Acceptance is not as universal as DELE, particularly outside the Spanish-speaking world, so confirm with the specific institution before choosing it over DELE.

Can I take just part of SIELE?

Yes. Alongside SIELE Global, which covers all four skills, there are modular versions testing specific combinations, which is useful if an institution only requires certain skills. It is worth checking exactly what your requirement asks for, since the modular options are cheaper and faster.
