Dele b1 preparation online for a diploma that never expires
DELE is issued by the Instituto Cervantes on behalf of the Spanish Ministry of Education, and it does not expire. B1 is the level Spanish nationality applicants usually need.

Who this is for
Is this the right course for you?
Applicants for Spanish nationality, learners who need permanent proof of level, and anyone building towards B2 who wants a checkpoint.
What you cover
Inside the DELE B1 course
- The four papers and the grouped pass requirement
- Subjunctive in its common B1 uses, taught inside sentences
- Past tenses — pretérito, imperfecto and the choice between them
- Written production to the B1 task types and marking criteria
- The oral, rehearsed with unprepared follow-up questions
- Two full timed mock papers with written feedback
DELE B1 is the most commonly taken DELE level, partly because of its role in Spanish nationality applications and partly because it is the point at which Spanish becomes independently usable.
The block scoring changes strategy
Because reading is grouped with writing and listening with speaking, the two blocks must both clear 30 out of 50. Candidates who are strong on paper and weak in the live skills fail on the second block, so preparation is weighted accordingly.
The subjunctive, in use
At B1 the subjunctive stops being optional. It is taught here inside real sentences from the start, because knowing the conjugation and producing it in real time are different skills.
DELE B1 questions, answered properly
Do I need DELE B1 for Spanish nationality?
Spanish nationality by residence normally requires DELE A2 or higher plus the CCSE constitutional and sociocultural test, with exemptions for nationals of Spanish-speaking countries. Many applicants take B1 rather than A2 because they want the level for other purposes too. Confirm the current requirement with the Ministry of Justice before booking.
How is DELE B1 scored?
The four papers are grouped into two blocks — reading with writing, and listening with speaking — and you need 30 out of 50 in each block to pass. That grouping matters: a strong reading score can carry a weaker writing one, but no amount of reading rescues a weak listening and speaking block.
How long does DELE B1 preparation take?
From A2, six to nine months at two lessons a week with homework. If you already speak at B1 and need only the certificate, focused format preparation is usually six to ten weeks. The trial lesson includes a placement so you are not paying for months of teaching you do not need.
