Dele b2 exam preparation for university entry and professional Spanish

B2 is the level Spanish universities and most employers ask for. It moves from describing your life to constructing an argument, and the written papers reflect that.

  • CEFR B2

Who this is for

Is this the right course for you?

Applicants to Spanish universities, professionals who need documented B2, and candidates progressing from DELE B1.

What you cover

Inside the DELE B2 course

  • The four papers and the two-block pass requirement
  • Building and defending an argument, in speech and in writing
  • Subjunctive in its full B2 range, including past forms
  • Written production to the B2 task types and marking criteria
  • The oral, including the interactive task with the examiner
  • Two full timed mock papers with written feedback

DELE B2 is the Spanish certificate that opens doors — university admission, professional recognition, and most job adverts that name a level.

Structure earns marks

The written papers are assessed on organisation as much as on language. Candidates who write fluent Spanish without a visible argumentative shape lose marks they did not know were on offer.

The oral is interactive

You are not delivering a monologue. The examiner engages with your position and expects you to respond, qualify and defend it. Rehearsing a prepared speech is the most common preparation mistake at this level.

DELE B2 questions, answered properly

Is DELE B2 accepted for Spanish university entry?

Spanish universities generally accept DELE B2 as evidence of Spanish for admission to degree programmes taught in Spanish, and some competitive courses ask for C1. Requirements are set by the institution, so check the programme page and confirm with admissions before committing to an exam date.

What makes the jump from B1 to B2 in Spanish?

Range and structure rather than new topics. B2 expects you to take a position, support it, concede a point and hold register, all under time pressure. Grammatically the main additions are the past subjunctive and more complex conditional structures. Six to twelve months of focused work is typical.

Which paper do candidates most often fail?

Written production, as at most B2 exams. The task asks for a structured argumentative text with a clear position and appropriate register, written to a clock. It is also the most improvable, because it responds directly to writing weekly, being marked against the published criteria, and rewriting.
