German b2 for nurses pflege, taught in the language of a real ward
Preparing for B2 Pflege with general B2 materials is the most common reason candidates fail it. The exam is clinical, and so is this course.

German B2 Pflege is a language exam about nursing, not a nursing exam in German, and the distinction matters. It assumes you know the profession and tests whether you can practise it in German.
Handover is where people struggle
The German nursing Übergabe is fast, abbreviated and dense. It is also highly trainable, largely by practising the structure until its shape is familiar enough that you can follow the content rather than decoding word by word.
Talking to patients and talking to doctors
These are two different registers and the exam tests both. Patient communication needs plain, reassuring language; a handover to a colleague needs compression and precision. Lessons switch between them deliberately.
telc Deutsch B2 Pflege questions, answered properly
What German level do nurses need for recognition in Germany?
B2 is the usual requirement for nursing recognition, and many states and employers name telc B2 Pflege specifically rather than a general B2. Requirements are set at state level and differ, so confirm with the recognition authority handling your application. Some routes accept general B2 plus a separate professional language examination.
Why can I not just prepare with general B2 materials?
Because the exam is clinical throughout. You will be asked to take a handover, speak to a patient, explain a procedure and write a care note. General B2 material builds none of that vocabulary or phrasing, and candidates who prepare that way typically pass the reading and fail the speaking and writing.
How long does B2 Pflege preparation take?
From a general B2, three to five months of focused clinical work is common. From B1, expect nine to fifteen months in total. The clinical vocabulary layer is not the hard part; what takes time is producing it fluently under the time pressure the speaking module imposes.
